Save the Date – 2026 Melges 24 Canadian National Championship taking place in Halifax, Nova Scotia June 11-14

01.06.2026 – Halifax, NS, Canada – We’re excited to announce the 2026 Melges 24 Canadian National Championship will be taking place June 11-14, 2026 at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron (RNSYS) in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Canadian National Championship is the 6th of 11 regattas that make up the 2026 Melges 24 North American Sailing Series. Racing will take place over 3 days in Halifax Harbour which faces the open Atlantic where sailors can expect a consistent and strong sea breeze from the South West. The conditions paired with the backdrop of the Halifax waterfront guarantees some fun and beautiful racing.

Competitors can expect great food and classic maritime hospitality at the oldest yacht club in the America’s. There is an on-water photographer lined up from Atlantic Boating Magazine that will be covering the action.

A statement from George Kapetanaki, RNSYS’s General Manager (who is very excited about putting together a great culinary element to the event):
“RNSYS is very much looking forward to hosting the Melges fleet and showcasing both our racing conditions on the Halifax Harbour and the hospitality our club and city are known for. Halifax offers a fantastic combination of competitive sailing, a strong waterfront culture, and a great social scene ashore, all within minutes of the racecourse. Pairing the event with SailGP the following week only adds to the appeal, and we expect it to be an outstanding experience for visiting teams.”
